Christina Alfonso-Ercan currently serves as cofounder and CFO of Novata Inc, a technology platform that provides the private markets with intuitive and effective Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) measurement, data collection, benchmarking and reporting. Prior to Novata, she served as cofounder and CEO of Madeira Global, an ESG advisory and reporting firm, from 2012 until its sale to Cimbria Capital in 2020. Through her work at Madeira, Christina advised top global fund managers, corporate boards, and leadership teams of Fortune 100 companies on ESG integration for over 10 years.
In 2021, Christina presented at the Annual Planning Committee Conference of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, advising on the intersection of climate risk and the private markets. In 2020, summarizing her contributions to the field, Christina published, “Private Equity and ESG Investing,” in, “Values at Work: Sustainable Investing & ESG Reporting,” via Palgrave MacMillan. She was recognized as a "Game Changer" by the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce in 2016 and, in 2015, was awarded "Women of Influence” by the New York Business Journal and City & State Reports' "Pioneer Award for Distinguished Achievement in Impact Investing.” In 2014, Christina was initiated into the Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle and was named a "Rising Talent" by the Women's Forum for the Economy and Society.
Christina holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics (Cum Laude) from Fordham University in New York, an M.B.A. from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, and is a 2021 Fellow of the Herndon Directors Institute, a nonprofit committed to ensuring diverse board representation.
